FAQ / Resources

We only respond to calls and emails during normal business hours. Please find emergency or additional resources below.

We offer a free 15 minute phone consultation with our office assistant, who is trained and knows the clinicians well, to be sure to properly place you with the appropriate clinician for your needs.

Please note that the first appointment with your therapist will serve as a consult and assessment.  Due to stringent insurance requirements, we do not offer free consults with your assigned therapist.  If you feel like your assigned therapist is not a good fit, after initial appointment, please alert our front office staff and we will re-assign you to another therapist on our team.

Unfortunately not at this time.  We work with general doctors, nurse practitioners, and psychiatrists to coordinate care and guide our clients if they need medications or have questions regarding the need for medications.  We believe the best method for treatment is making sure you are participating in individual therapy and then adding medications in if needed.

Our front office staff will do their best to verify benefits.  However, due to numerous insurance plans, we do not always have accurate information.  We recommend all clients contact their insurance plan directly to inquire about behavioral health benefits including deductibles, co-insurance, co-pays, and mid-year deductibles.

Our therapists and clients have reported positive therapeutic relationships and outcomes with our virtual therapy platform.  Numerous studies and real-world applications have demonstrated its benefits, particularly in areas like convenience, accessibility, and cost-effectiveness. However, it’s important to note that the effectiveness of virtual counseling can vary depending on individual preferences, needs, and the nature of the counseling itself.

We kindly request that you are considerate of your therapist’s time as they dedicate that time to helping you.  With the exception of Medicaid, we do bill clients for No Shows or Late Cancels. Cancellations are acceptable if cancelled at least 24 hour in advance and clients will not be billed.

With the exception of Medicaid clients, we do require a credit card on file for all clients with Medicare or Commercial Health Insurance.  Per our policy, we have a No Show/Late Cancellation Fee and will charge your card on file if your appointment is not cancelled before 24 hours notice.  Additionally, you may have a co-pay, deductible, or co-insurance.

Currently, our portal is only able to upload your primary insurance upon completing the intake documents. You can, however, upload your secondary insurance separately through the Client Portal – Document Upload tab. Or you can always contact our office assistant directly to ensure  your secondary insurance is added to your client file.

SAMANTHA SILVERMAN, LCSW/CEO

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Proud Owner of Silver Linings Mental Health.  I am currently focusing on expanding our practice, teaching trauma informed care through the Silver Linings Institute, and providing consultation services to other practice owners.

I love empowering other therapists to take the leap into the world of private practice.  Whether you are an already established practice or are just beginning, I will provide guidance.  Oftentimes, the biggest obstacle is transferring from a therapist’s mindset to now being a business owner.

The therapist’s mindset encompasses a deep understanding of human behavior, emotional intelligence, and effective communication. This perspective is invaluable in navigating interpersonal relationships, fostering a positive company culture, and addressing the psychological aspects of both employees and clients.

Simultaneously, the business owner mindset contributes a results-driven orientation, strategic vision, and a keen sense of adaptability to the mix. Entrepreneurs are adept at setting goals, making informed decisions, and steering their company through challenges.

The merging of these two mindsets can result in a holistic leadership style that recognizes the symbiotic relationship between employee well-being and business success. This integrative approach not only enhances team dynamics but also cultivates a work environment where individuals feel understood, supported, and motivated to contribute their best, thereby creating a thriving and sustainable business.  I will help you with combining both mindsets in order to foster a sustainable business plan.
