Dawn Brady, SWC

Are you experiencing family conflict or life transition issues? Are you an athlete or former athlete?  Are you struggling with trauma, depression, or anxiety?

I am a Clinical Social Work Candidate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado and a Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Mental Health and Trauma from the University of Denver.

I am passionate about working with clients who have experienced trauma and believe that we can all learn and grow from traumatic experiences.  Additionally, I love helping my clients overcome areas of need such as housing and food insecurity, unemployment, and involvement in the criminal justice system.

As a former athlete and a parent of youth athletes, I also love working with sports-oriented individuals who may struggle with eating disorders, stressors, and mental health concerns.

I understand the difficulty of going through life wanting something better but feeling unsure of how to make it happen. Together, we can begin to explore and resolve the problems getting in the way of the life you really want to be living. You don’t have to do this alone.

Lara Cladny, Lpcc

Hi, I’m Lara (she/her). I am a Licensed Professional Counseling Candidate and earned my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Adams State University. After working two years in a college counseling center providing outpatient therapy, I worked for several years as a crisis therapist in which I helped people navigate the darkest and scariest moments of their lives. Supporting individuals through challenging times is both a deep honor and a great passion of mine, and I view my role as a therapist to be that of a metaphorical spelunking guide. Spelunking refers to the exploration of caves. Metaphorically, we often find ourselves in therapy when we feel lost in the dark caves of suffering, which can be both tremendously terrifying and painful, but it is also an opportunity to discover the treasures and beauty in our life experiences. It can be difficult to navigate our inner worlds alone, and having a guide to both accompany us into the depths and help us learn the skills and tools can be the key to finding our way back to the light. I meet my clients where they are but rely heavily on my training in DBT, ACT, Depth Psychology, and Somatic Psychotherapy to support individuals in their journeys of healing and self-discovery.

WENDY KARSH, LCSW CLINICAL DIRECTOR

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over twenty years of experience in advocacy, social services, consultation, psychotherapy, and clinical supervision. Certified through EMDRIA, I am currently a Consultant in Training and exclusively accepting EMDR clients. My practice focuses on trauma, grief and loss, chronic pain and illness, caregiver stress, and aging, offering individual therapy for adults of all ages.

My therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy with a Strengths Perspective, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, and EMDR. I believe in fostering a collaborative relationship between therapist and client, empowering clients to be the primary agents of change in their lives. I am dedicated to supporting clients on their journeys, helping them achieve their goals, build empowerment, and experience post-traumatic growth.

CELINA FERNANDEZ-AYALA, LSW

Hello, I’m Celina (they/them), a bilingual individual fluent in both Spanish and English. I proudly hold a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Connecticut, and I am a licensed social worker in both Colorado and Connecticut.

My passion lies in fostering a supportive and non-judgmental space for clients to embark on their journey of growth and healing. Working with adults of all ages and middle school students has been particularly rewarding, allowing me to tailor my approach to the unique needs of diverse age groups.

My professional background extends to case management and community organization, experiences that have significantly shaped my counseling style. I bring a systemic, multicultural, and social justice perspective to my individual counseling work, recognizing the importance of addressing the broader contexts that influence individuals’ lives.

I am dedicated to integrating my understanding of systems to provide a comprehensive and empathetic approach to therapy. This holistic perspective allows me to consider the intricate interplay between various factors, contributing to a more nuanced understanding of my clients’ experiences.

As a bilingual practitioner, I am equipped to engage with clients in their preferred language, facilitating effective communication and a deeper connection. My commitment to cultural competency and social justice ensures that my practice is inclusive and affirming for individuals from diverse backgrounds.

I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with you on your journey towards personal growth and well-being. If you have any questions or would like to explore how we can work together, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to the possibility of supporting you on your path to healing.

Kelly McGinnis, LSW

I am a Licensed Social Worker and Psychotherapist with a Masters Degree in Social Work from Metropolitan State University. I hold a wide variety of certifications including certifications in: Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique and Thought Field Therapy.  I have worked in schools with youth in mental health roles, conducting groups and individual sessions, and with adults in nonprofits and private practice settings. I believe strongly in contributing to the community. I seek to give back to my community through my work with the United Nations Association of Boulder County, where I sit on the board, supervise interns, and co-chair the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee. I believe in a humanistic approach that values each individual for their inherent self-worth and wisdom. I use a largely non-authoritative style that works on guiding you towards your own truth through a series of open-ended questions, somatic and mindfulness based tools, and focused attention in a safe and accepting relational environment. I specialize in parenting challenges, family systems, relationships, depression, anxiety, stress, self esteem, and PTSD. I believe that no one is “broken” we just get “stuck” in different states or patterns and, like stepping in deep mud, we all need help getting “unstuck” from time to time. It is my honor and privilege to offer a hand when you find yourself stuck knee deep in the muck.

SAMANTHA SILVERMAN, LCSW/CEO

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Proud Owner of Silver Linings Mental Health.  I am currently focusing on expanding our practice, teaching trauma informed care through the Silver Linings Institute, and providing consultation services to other practice owners.

I love empowering other therapists to take the leap into the world of private practice.  Whether you are an already established practice or are just beginning, I will provide guidance.  Oftentimes, the biggest obstacle is transferring from a therapist’s mindset to now being a business owner.

The therapist’s mindset encompasses a deep understanding of human behavior, emotional intelligence, and effective communication. This perspective is invaluable in navigating interpersonal relationships, fostering a positive company culture, and addressing the psychological aspects of both employees and clients.

Simultaneously, the business owner mindset contributes a results-driven orientation, strategic vision, and a keen sense of adaptability to the mix. Entrepreneurs are adept at setting goals, making informed decisions, and steering their company through challenges.

The merging of these two mindsets can result in a holistic leadership style that recognizes the symbiotic relationship between employee well-being and business success. This integrative approach not only enhances team dynamics but also cultivates a work environment where individuals feel understood, supported, and motivated to contribute their best, thereby creating a thriving and sustainable business.  I will help you with combining both mindsets in order to foster a sustainable business plan.

LISA PERMAR, INTAKE COORDINATOR
